Lost Money lives at lostcash.app. We look for unused credit and stuck refunds in Gmail. The inbox stays yours.

We only read

The only Google permission we ask for is gmail.readonly. We never send mail. We never delete mail. We never touch your mail.

If a consent screen asks to send or delete, close it — that is not us.

What Google user data we access

With your consent, we use the Gmail API and only gmail.readonly. During a scan the site may read message subjects, snippets, dates, senders, and (when needed to find a dollar amount) message bodies. We do this only to show leftover gift cards, store credit, and unused refunds on screen.

We do not store inbox bodies

We search, show the find, and drop the body. Gmail content is processed in your browser for that scan. We do not keep inbox bodies, full messages, or your mail on our servers after the tab is closed.

How we protect that data

All traffic to lostcash.app and to Google’s Gmail API uses HTTPS / TLS in transit. The Google access token stays in this tab’s memory for the scan. We do not write it to disk, cookies, or localStorage. We do not store Gmail message content at rest on our servers. Disconnect or closing the tab drops the token. These are the data-protection mechanisms we use for this sensitive Gmail data.

Sharing, transfer, and disclosure

We do not sell Google user data. We do not share, transfer, or disclose Gmail content to advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties. The only service that sees your mail during a scan is Google’s Gmail API, to perform the read you authorized. We do not use Gmail data to train AI or ML models, including Google Workspace data.

Limited use

Gmail data is used only to provide the leftover-credit find list, a user-facing feature on this site. We follow Google’s Limited Use requirements for Workspace APIs. We do not use this data for ads, credit scoring, or any purpose that is not showing you that find list.

What a find is

A find is a lead — merchant, a dollar amount from the email, a date, and a type (gift card, refund, leftover credit). The number in the email is not a promise. Many are already spent.

What we do not do

• Send or delete mail
