Privacy
Lost Money lives at lostcash.app. We look for unused credit and stuck refunds in Gmail. The inbox stays yours.
We only read
The only Google permission we ask for is gmail.readonly. We never send mail. We never delete mail. We never touch your mail.
If a consent screen asks to send or delete, close it — that is not us.
We do not store inbox bodies
We search, show the find, and drop the body. The message text does not sit with us.
Tokens are encrypted
If you sign in, access tokens are encrypted. We do not use your mailbox for ads, and we do not sell it.
What a find is
A find is a lead — merchant, a dollar amount from the email, a date, and a type (gift card, refund, leftover credit). The number in the email is not a promise. Many are already spent.
What we do not do
- Send or delete mail
- Ask for more than gmail.readonly
- Keep inbox bodies
- Charge a monthly fee
- Charge a percent of a guessed email amount
First cut, then a donation
The first cut is free. If you recover something and want to, there is a donation box. No monthly fee.
